Annette Thompson was born in Fresno, California where she got her passion for horses at a very early age. Starting at 5 with her first Breyer Horse modles her love of horses never died. By 10 she was taking riding instructions and leased her first grey pony named Pet. During her teens she became an assistant trainer at Jensen Stables and rode the B circuit in show jumping with her beautiful appaloosa W.W. By 15 she had 3 horses W.W a pure white Appaloosa gelding , Magic a grey Anglo- Arb mare and Sprout a bay cross between Magic and a quarter horse stud. During this time she got the chance to ride various horses including several cutting horses and a stunning quarter horse stud at a breeding ranch. Her dream was to be a equine veterinarian and ride at Spruce Meadows.

At 16 she moved with her family and horses to Alberta Canada. She almost got the taste of Spruce Meadows but W. W.came down with UV ites that eventually cost him his eye and the horses were retired soon after. She volunteered at a large animal clinic in Rocky Mountain House Alberta for 2 years . When she was 20 she started working at a small animal veterinarian clinic in Calgary Alberta where she worked at various clinics for 15 years. While working at the veterinarian clinic she founded Wrapped Up In Reptiles a snake breeding facility and operated this business for the next 27 years.

As an adult her dream of helping and healing horses never died. She got her diploma in Equine Studies with honers at Guelph University along with her Certification in Equine business with honers. She is a certified Equine Massage Therapist and has her certificate in Equine Kinesiology Taping.

She owned the Carseland ATB Financial Agency in Carseland Alberta for the last 18 years . And has a 15 year old sorrel BLM Mustang gelding named Lucian as a compainion. She and her 2 partners have founded Spirit Horse Haven ,a healing journey within the Sierra Stables facility outside of Calgary Alberta.
